Welcome

Our mission is to carry on the three-fold ministry of Jesus Christ--preaching the Good News, building up a community of believers and serving others as He did, especially those most in need. All are welcome to join us in this mission.
Those who are new to our parish are cordially invited to make their presence known by introducing themselves to Father after Mass and by contacting the Rectory office during the week to register so that we can be of better service to you.
It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.
Pope John Paul II, address, Vigil of Prayer, Tor Vergata, Rome, World Youth Day, August 19, 2000

FOR YOUR MARRIAGE
Every marriage matters, because marriage comes from the hand of God. God brings a man and a woman together to love and support each other. Their love becomes visible in the children they bring into the world and in their acts of generous service.
In Catholic teaching, the valid marriage between two baptized Christians is also a sacrament. The love between the spouses symbolizes Christ’s love for the church. For Your Marriage is an initiative of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Catholic Church cares about your marriage.

Do you wish to be great? Then begin by being. Do you desire to construct a vast and lofty fabric? Think first about the foundations of humility. The higher your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation.
— Saint Augustine
“It is possible to evade a multitude of sorrows by the cultivation of an insignificant life. Indeed if a person’s ambition is to avoid trouble, the recipe is simple: shed your ambitions, cut the wings of every purpose, and seek a little life with a few purposes, a few relations, and a few contacts.
If you want to get through the world with the smallest trouble, reduce yourself to the smallest compass.
Tiny souls can dodge through life; bigger souls are blocked on every side. As soon as a person enlarges his or her life, resistances are multiplied. If you are petty and selfish and just caring about yourself, you will have no trouble; if you are interested in the agenda of Christ, your suffering will be increased on every side.”
Ellie Lefaro (Focus on the Family radio broadcast), quoting J. Henry Jowett
